Taking in local culture
After cruising the Chagres River we go very off the map and find a hidden indian village. Seriously, you would have no idea it's there if you didn't know about it. At one point I wondered where we were going as our tour guides took us through plant-filled areas of water. We pulled up to a non-descript riverbank and hiked along a muddy pathway to another boat where locals greeted us to take us to their community. At first you feel like you've gone back in time but then you realize they're advanced (with internet), they just happen to live a more natural and simple life. We're given a presentation about the local area and an opportunity to purchase some homemade crafts from tables they'd set up. The visit ended with a traditional dance that everyone got involved in.
